Erectile Dysfunction and Heart Disease

There is a connection between erectile dysfunction and heart disease. Erectile dysfunction refers to the inability of a male to achieve or maintain a solid erection which makes it difficult for him to have sexual intercourse, and it can really affect the emotions and confidence of a man. Erectile dysfunction is more common in older men, but it affects younger men as well.   There are several factors that can influence a man's ability to achieve an erection. Hormones, emotions, nerves, and even blood vessels determines if a man will be able to become aroused.

Its not only caused by psychological issues but can also be due to other health conditions and medical studies have shown that erectile dysfunction and heart disease are connected as erectile dysfunction include heart disease, clogged blood vessels, high blood pressure, and obesity. Improper blood flow because of heart problems can affect an erection as fatty deposits which build up on artery walls, restrict the blood flow.  When the arteries are clogged there is insufficient blood flow to the penis thereby causing impotence. Atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and heavy smoking all lead to this sexual disorder. Erectile dysfunction and heart disease are serious problems, so it is important to get proper remedy as soon as possible as both these conditions are very important for men.  It is not only sexual performance, but heart problems can be dangerous.  Hence overcome the problem as it can have a great effect on your quality of life and overall wellbeing.
