Sexual health and smoking

Many factors such as physical and psychological factors can cause erectile dysfunction in men. There are many signs and causes of erectile dysfunction in men.  The signs and symptoms of erectile dysfunction are difficulty in having hard erections, inability to sustain an erection and low interest in sex. The major causes of erectile dysfunction are smoking, stress, anxiety, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, obesity, etc. Erection occurs when there is an increase in blood flow to the penis via the penile arteries into the two chambers in the penis which is referred to as the corpora cavernosa. As soon as the chambers become filled up, the penis becomes hard and strong.

Smoking is another main cause of erectile dysfunction as it has the capability to destroy blood vessels and arteries and restricts free flow of blood.  Studies show that there is a correlation between smoking and erectile dysfunction and men who quit smoking, or do not smoke can have stronger and firmer erections. The chemicals present in cigarette have the capability to destroy the blood vessels in men's penis and affect its firmness. The chemicals in the cigarettes can also cause harm to the kidneys, brain, lung, heart and other parts of the body.

Erectile dysfunction is known to occur at any stage, but it is more common in men as they grow older and in younger men is most likely caused by smoking. Men who smoke are at much higher risk of having erectile dysfunction compared to non-smokers.  Smoking can destroy the healthy muscles in the penis which affects the erectile functioning and leads to low libido.  Smoking has an adverse effect on the sex life of a man and can also cause infertility as the testes and accessory glands were observed to have inflammation which results in damaged sperm.

Therefore, it is important to quit smoking to lead a healthy sexual life and overall good health.  Take a natural herbal supplement to overcome erectile dysfunction in a safe and effective way.
